Alfred Hitchcock:
Alfred Hitchcock is probably the most influential thriller director in history, directing over 60 films. He was a British director and producer, who pioneered a number of techniques such as the dolly zoom (Now often called the 'Vertigo Effect', after the film 'Vertigo', in which the effect was used on a number of occasions). He mastered suspense in film, and was a genius at building tension in the vast majority of his films.
He directed such masterpieces as 'Rear Window', 'Vertigo', 'Rope' and the influential and acclaimed 'Psycho'. His work has acted as an influence on many modern movie makers and fanatics alike.
David Fincher:
David Fincher has directed a number of thriller films, including 'Se7en', 'Zodiac', 'The Game' and more recently 'Gone Girl'. Many of Fincher's films have gained critical acclaim for their clever storylines and intriguing characters. He has made a strong for himself as a modern film maker, who can rival the greats.
He is currently working on other projects such as the brilliant 'House of Cards', working as a director on a number of episodes, and acting as an executive producer.
His film 'Zodiac' was a big influence on us, with our director Ben, with a number of elements from the film making their way into our extract, whilst still making them unique to us.
