Hammer films have created a large number of horror/thriller films. They were synonymous with such monsters as Frankenstein, Dracula and the mummy, which were all produced in some form by the studio. Many of these spawned sequels. Frankenstein had a total of 6 sequels, whilst Dracula had 8. The studio's logo mimics that of a 1950's production company, with the studio going back to it's roots.
They have recently developed such films as 'The Woman in Black' and 'Let Me In'.
Whilst universal is famous for films of all genres, it has had a number of particularly successful thrillers. Spielberg films such as Jaws and Jurassic park have all been released by the company. These films build suspense and yet create engrossing storylines for the viewer to enjoy.
Universal works with directors to make films that audiences will enjoy, and their thrillers are made specifically to what their audiences want.
