Pre-planning
Our first priority was to create a basic storyline. We decided upon a fairly simple idea, which we felt would be effective as a thriller, in that it would build tension. Two characters are seen taking a shortcut, leading to a lone cabin. One character hears a sound inside the cabin, planned to be a recording of a crying baby. The character would then walk in and discover a tape player, playing the crying baby sound. Along with this he would find a pack of tarot cards as well as a creepy doll, which would go along with the noise of the baby. He would then go to leave, but see a candlelight on a nearby door. He goes to explore this and finds a body on the floor, on top of a bloodied sheet. This body would be surrounded by tarot cards, including one 'The Fool', on his hand. A close-up of this card will be the final shot.

My name is Harvey Gough. Although I am new to Media Studies, having not taken it at GCSE. However, I feel I have attained skills in a number of aspects, including camera techniques and editing. I feel I can benefit the group by thinking creatively about different approaches, in order to make the piece as good as it can be.
Ben Austin is a member of the sound and light crew at our school. This means he is very familiar with a number of aspects of media, particularly with sound design and lighting techniques.
George Harrison-Soper took Media Studies at GCSE. He is now very confident with such aspects as editing techniques and is looking forward to working on a larger project at this stage.
Niall Banks does Media Studies as well as Music Tech, at AS Level. This means he is particularly confident with sound design, including sound effects and music. He enjoys working as part of a group and looks forward to making a professional opening sequence.
Overall, I am pleased with the group I am a part of as we all have separate skill sets, which will benefit the piece as we can all contribute to different areas of the extract. We have decided to work together on various aspects of the creative process of this film, whilst also focusing on our specific strengths, in order to use these to our advantage, to make the extract as good as possible.
