Tarot Cards

Justice - Instruction Booklet: Equity, Rightness, Probity, Executive - This card represents how the killer feels his work is justified. We decided this added a new level to the nature of the killer, who remains unseen during the extract.

The Devil - Instruction Booklet: Ravage, Violence, Vehemence, Fatality -  This card's meaning reflects the violent nature of the murder, as well as relating to the violent and sinful nature of the killer.

The Tower - Instruction Booklet: Misery, Distress, Deception, Calamity -  The meaning of this card, and it's portrayal of misery and distress, again relate to the pain felt by the victim. It also relates to sudden change, reflecting the series of events which would follow the discovery of the victim's body.

Judgement - Instruction Booklet: Change of Position, Renewal, Outcome - Our main reason for the choice of this card, was not to do with it's meaning, relating to a change or result of something. Instead we chose it due to it's name, like justice, implying that the killer feels he is justified in what he's doing, as the victim has presumably done something wrong

The World - Instruction Booklet: Assured Success, Voyage, Route, Change of Place - This was originally our choice for the main card, which would be held by the corpse. Whilst we changed the main card to 'The Fool', we kept this card due to it's meaning, of being the 'Final gateway', between life and death.

The Fool - Instruction Booklet: Folly, Mania, Extravagance, Intoxication - We have chosen this card as our main card, to be held by the discovered corpse. This both acts as a reflection of the corpse, as well as a possible clue to the identity of his killer. The card implies that the victim himself was a fool.

Edit: This extract of our sequence, containing the various tarot cards around a body, has now been cut and will be replaced by a hint of a body. The pack of tarot cards will still be found, but not all of the above cards will play a significant part anymore. The death card will still remain the card which is placed on the top of the deck.

Death - The death card is clearly the most well-known card of all the tarot cards. To many it symbolises future death and acts as a bad omen. However, this is not all true. Death is considered the most powerful card in the deck. However, instead of symbolising death itself, it symbolises transformation, normally to a higher level of life. We used this card as it relates to the theme of death, and to many will be a card considered worrisome to the main character.
