Reservoir Dogs:

The film opens in a restaurant, with the main group of characters discussing a variety of topics, including tipping and Madonna's 'Like a Virgin'. The scene introduces us to the characters, particularly Steve Buscemi's Mr. Pink, as an outspoken character who questions society. Another important character point is how Tim Roth's Mr. Orange tells on Mr. Pink for not tipping. This becomes particularly relevant when taking into account his actions in the rest of the film.

The scene emphasises the every day nature of the group of criminals, who do not focus on a topic such as the upcoming robbery, instead focusing on their personalities outside of their criminal activity.

This is followed by the notorious opening section, showing the group of criminals walking to the tune of 'Little Green Bag' by George Baker. This scene is played in slow motion, which when paired with the music, presents the characters as 'cool'. This glorifies the criminal group and presents us with a group of anti-heroes.

This film breaks stereotype by both presenting the criminals as 'cool', as well as showing their everyday conversations, which presents them as normal people, not a group of villains, which may be expected.
